# Missing Bean Issue - January 6, 2026
## Problem
Application fails to start with:
```
Parameter 3 of constructor in CodeRefactoringModuleImpl required a bean of type 'ChangeTracker' that could not be found.
```
## Analysis
### Bean Definition Exists
The `ChangeTracker` bean is already defined in `JakartaMigrationConfig.java`:
```java
@Bean
public ChangeTracker changeTracker() {
return new ChangeTracker();
}
```
### Possible Causes
1. **Component Scan Timing**: The `@ComponentScan` on `JakartaMigrationConfig` might be redundant or conflicting with the `scanBasePackages` on `@SpringBootApplication`
2. **Configuration Class Not Discovered**: The `JakartaMigrationConfig` class might not be getting scanned
3. **Bean Creation Order**: The `CodeRefactoringModuleImpl` might be trying to create before `ChangeTracker` bean is available
### Current Configuration
**Main Application:**
```java
@SpringBootApplication(
scanBasePackages = {
"adrianmikula.jakartamigration",
"adrianmikula.projectname"
}
)
```
**JakartaMigrationConfig:**
```java
@Configuration
@ComponentScan(basePackages = "adrianmikula.jakartamigration")
```
The `@ComponentScan` on `JakartaMigrationConfig` is now redundant since `@SpringBootApplication` already scans `adrianmikula.jakartamigration`.
## Solution
The `@ComponentScan` annotation on `JakartaMigrationConfig` should be removed since:
1. `@SpringBootApplication` with `scanBasePackages` already covers this
2. Having multiple `@ComponentScan` annotations can cause conflicts
3. The `@Configuration` annotation is sufficient for Spring to discover and process the bean definitions
## Fix
Remove `@ComponentScan` from `JakartaMigrationConfig` - it's redundant and potentially causing issues.
