# Planslurpen MCP Server - Quick Start Guide
Get up and running with the Planslurpen MCP server in 5 minutes!
## 📋 Prerequisites
- Python 3.10 or higher
- pip (Python package installer)
- Claude Desktop app (or another MCP client)
## 🚀 Quick Setup
### Step 1: Install Dependencies
Open your terminal and navigate to the `planslurpen_mcp` directory:

pip install -r requirements.txt
```
### Step 2: Configure Claude Desktop
1. Open Claude Desktop configuration file:
- **macOS:** `~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json`
- **Windows:** `%APPDATA%/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json`
2. Add the server configuration:

**Note:** Replace the path with the actual absolute path to `planslurpen_mcp.py`
3. Restart Claude Desktop
### Step 3: Verify Installation

## 🔧 Troubleshooting
### "Module not found" error
**Problem:** Missing dependencies
**Solution:**

pip install --upgrade mcp httpx pydantic
```
### Server not appearing in Claude
**Problem:** Configuration not loaded
**Solution:**
1. Check that the path in `claude_desktop_config.json` is absolute and correct
2. Verify JSON syntax is valid (no trailing commas, proper quotes)
3. Restart Claude Desktop completely (quit and reopen)
4. Check Claude Desktop logs for errors
### "Plan not found" error
**Problem:** Invalid kommune number or plan ID
**Solution:**
1. Visit https://planslurpen.no/
2. Search for the plan you want
3. Copy the exact kommune number and plan ID from the URL
4. Try again with verified IDs
