# Define a Business Application
Review and adjust related applications and add application instances.
You can use SAP standard applications \(for example, SAP ERP\), or you can adjust the configuration to use your own applications.

## Selecting an SAP Standard Application Technology
1. Go to *Configure* \> *Applications*.
2. In the *Application Profile* tab, select the application profile of your choice.

## Defining a Custom Application Profile
1. Go to *Configure* \> *Applications*.
2. Choose *\+* \(*Create*\) to add a new application profile.
3. Select the application profile from the list of predefined application profiles. To create a user-defined application profile, select *Create Application Profile* and specify an Application Profile and Vendor.
4. Select the newly created application profile and choose Edit to add details about the custom technology.
5. You can specify more details about the custom technology.
You can specify different attributes in the following tabs.
