get_event_course

Read-only

Read an event's race course the way the event card's Course tab does, computed in code against the athlete's FTP, weight and the event's CdA: finish time (solo physics), NP/TSS, power plan per climb (watts, W/kg, minutes, seconds saved by +10 W), climbs and descents with category, surface split (OSM), race-hour wind from the forecast, and derived key moments (hardest/last climb, technical descent, crosswind, feeds). Use it for 'разбери трассу', pacing a race, which climb decides it. Use ITS numbers — do not redo the physics. Needs the event id from list_events and a GPX on the event.

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true and destructiveHint=false, so the safety profile is covered. The description adds real behavioral context: the result is computed in code from the athlete's FTP, weight and the event's CdA, and it requires an existing GPX on the event. It does not, however, mention rate limits or handling of missing GPX/FTP.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with the core action, then the output enumeration and prerequisites. The long output list is on the verbose side but earns its place since there is no output schema to document the return values. No filler sentences.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a read-only tool with no output schema, the description usefully enumerates the return contents and states the prerequisites (event id, GPX on event). Annotations cover the safety profile. It is close to complete, though it does not say what happens when the GPX is absent or the event is a non-race.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 50%: ifTarget is documented in the schema (IF, 0.55–1, default 0.80) but the required id is not. The description partially compensates by stating the id comes from list_events, but adds nothing about ifTarget and gives no format detail for id, so this sits at the baseline.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb (Read) and resource (an event's race course), and enumerates the concrete outputs it produces (finish time, NP/TSS, power plan per climb, surface split, key moments). No sibling tool does anything comparable, so an agent can distinguish it immediately.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Provides explicit use cases ('разбери трассу', pacing a race, which climb decides it) and a prerequisite (needs the event id from list_events and a GPX on the event). It also cautions 'use ITS numbers — do not redo the physics', but names no alternative tool or when-not-to-use condition, so it stops short of a 5.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
