Approve Post

antix_approve_post
Idempotent

Release a post that is waiting for approval — ONLY after the user explicitly approved it in this conversation (confirm: true is required). publishNow: true sends it within about a minute; otherwise it keeps its booked time. It is not live when this returns: confirm with antix_get_post, and say it is live only once status is published with a permalink. A Story reminder is different: approving it only releases the notice that tells the user to post the Story themselves — AIGE never publishes a reminder, so it never gets a permalink (its status ends at handoff_ready).

Input Schema

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
postIdYes
confirmYesMust be true: the user explicitly approved this post.
publishNowNotrue = send it within about a minute (a Story reminder: send the notice to post it by hand); otherwise keep its booked time.

TDQS

A4.8/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Goes well beyond the annotations: discloses that the post is NOT live on return, that 'live' means status published with a permalink, and that idempotent-sounding Story reminders terminate at handoff_ready with no permalink. This is exactly the out-of-band behavior an agent would otherwise get wrong, and it does not conflict with readOnlyHint=false / destructiveHint=false.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with the safety-critical constraint and organized as release-condition, timing, verification, and edge case. Slightly padded by restating the publishNow behavior almost verbatim from the schema, which is minor redundancy.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a mutation tool with no output schema, it covers everything an agent needs: the confirm gate, the timing branch, the fact that success is not equivalent to being live, how to verify, and the Story-reminder exception. Nothing material is missing.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

At 67% schema coverage, the description usefully reinforces that confirm must reflect real user approval in this conversation and explains what publishNow=true does to scheduling timing. postId's meaning is left implicit, but its constrained name and pattern make it self-evident.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource ('Release a post that is waiting for approval') and immediately scopes it to the approval workflow, which cleanly separates it from antix_get_post, antix_cancel_post, and antix_create_post. The Story-reminder carve-out further clarifies what class of object this actually acts on.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines5/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explicit precondition ('ONLY after the user explicitly approved it in this conversation'), explicit required flag, and an explicit post-call verification step via antix_get_post. It also distinguishes the publishNow branch versus keeping the booked time, so an agent knows which call variant to make.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
