get_supported_versions

Get only currently supported versions (not EOL, not future releases). Each version carries securitySummary { status, requiredPatches, upgradeRequired }: isSecureVersion and statusLabel describe the support lifecycle only, so a supported version can still have open bulletins. Call check_version_security for the remedies.

TDQS

A4.3/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

No annotations are provided, so the description carries the full burden, and it delivers a genuinely non-obvious caveat: isSecureVersion/statusLabel describe the support lifecycle only, so a supported version can still have open bulletins. It does not cover auth requirements, rate limits, or result ordering/pagination.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three dense sentences, front-loaded with the scope constraint, then the return-shape detail, then the sibling hand-off. No filler.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

There is no output schema, so the description must (and does) name the returned securitySummary fields and explain how to read isSecureVersion/statusLabel. An agent has enough to call it correctly and interpret the result.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 0% and the description never mentions the required `distribution` parameter. However, it is a single self-explanatory enum (magento-community, magento-commerce, mage-os), so the gap is small rather than fatal.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

Specific verb+resource with an explicit scope boundary: 'only currently supported versions (not EOL, not future releases)'. This cleanly separates it from siblings like get_eol_versions and get_all_versions without needing their schemas.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explicitly excludes EOL and future releases, and routes the agent to check_version_security 'for the remedies'. That is clear context plus one named alternative, though it doesn't address when to prefer it over get_latest_version or get_all_versions.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
