generate_pix_code

Build a static PIX (BR Code) payment payload for Brazil and optionally render it as a QR image. Returns the payload string by default (render it with generate_qr, or pass format). Static and untracked — nothing is saved to the library. Requires an OpenQR API key.

Input Schema

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
keyYesPIX key: CPF, CNPJ, email, +55 phone or random (EVP) key.
cityYesMerchant city, ≤15 chars.
nameYesMerchant name, ≤25 chars (diacritics stripped to ASCII).
sizeNoImage size, 96–2048 (default 512).
txidNoTransaction id, 1-25 letters/digits. Defaults to ***.
forceNoBuild even when validation reports problems (they return as warnings) — e.g. a check-digit warning you have verified yourself.
amountNoOptional amount in BRL, e.g. 10.50.
formatNoReturn a rendered image instead of the payload string.
singleUseNoEmit point-of-initiation 11: the code works for one payment only. Default reusable.
descriptionNoOptional description, ≤25 chars.

TDQS

A4.2/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

With no annotations, the description carries the full burden and delivers meaningful traits: no persistence ('nothing is saved to the library'), the auth requirement (OpenQR API key), and the default return behavior (payload string). It omits error/validation-failure handling beyond what the schema's force param implies, but the core state and auth facts are present.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Four tight sentences, front-loaded with purpose, then default behavior, state effect, and auth requirement. Every sentence earns its place with no filler or redundancy.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a 10-parameter tool with no output schema, the description covers the essential return shape (payload string vs rendered image), persistence behavior, and auth need. It is largely complete, though it could say more about validation behavior on failure given the force parameter.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so the schema already documents all ten parameters thoroughly, including enum, ranges, and defaults. The description only echoes the format param and default return, adding no syntax or format detail beyond the structured fields — the baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource — build a static PIX (BR Code) payload for Brazil — with optional QR rendering. It distinguishes itself from sibling payment-format tools (generate_epc_code, generate_upi_code) and from library-persisting tools (create_static_qr) by declaring itself 'static and untracked'. An agent can identify it without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Names an explicit alternative for rendering ('render it with generate_qr, or pass format') and clarifies the persistence distinction ('nothing is saved to the library'). It lacks an explicit statement of when NOT to use it (e.g. vs create_static_qr when persistence is wanted), leaving one comparison to inference.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
