OpenAny

Authoritative Case Keyword Search API

yuandian_post_open_rh_qwal_search

Searches for a list of authoritative, typical, and reference cases. Supports filters for case number, title, cause of action, court, region, document type, case category, judgment date, and full-text keywords. The request body must not be empty. Returns the total number of matches and a case list. content preferentially contains the key judicial reasoning, an abstract, or a case explanation, falling back to body text only when these are absent. It is not guaranteed to be the complete court document; call the case detail API when full text is required. Uses the caller's OpenAny gateway credentials. Charges and authorization are determined by the gateway.

TDQS

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

With no annotations provided, the description carries the burden and does well: it discloses the empty-body failure condition, that billing and authorization flow through the caller's OpenAny gateway credentials, the response shape (total matches plus a case list), and that the returned content is an excerpt (reasoning/abstract/summary) rather than the complete court document. It does not mention rate limits, pagination beyond top_k, or failure behavior for invalid enum values.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is front-loaded with purpose and filters, then shifts to return semantics and the detail-API escalation, which is the right order. A couple of sentences (the content fallback chain) are dense but each contributes actionable information; no filler.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a 13-parameter search with no output schema, the description covers the return contract (total count plus case list), the meaning/limits of the content field, the non-empty body requirement, and the credential/billing model. What remains thin is cross-tool differentiation against the other case-search endpoints in this family.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so every parameter is already documented with format, array-OR semantics, and allowed literal values. The description only restates the filter list without adding syntax, defaults, or interaction rules beyond what the schema says, so the baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description opens with a specific verb and resource ('Searches for a list of authoritative, typical, and reference cases') and enumerates the exact filterable dimensions. It distinguishes this keyword search from the case detail API by name, so an agent can tell which one to call without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It gives an explicit routing rule: use this for list/keyword lookup, and 'call the case detail API when full text is required.' It also states the hard precondition that the request body must not be empty. It does not compare against other available search siblings (e.g. vector or semantic case search), so the alternative mapping is only partly covered.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
