Re-run the analysis

refresh_config

Re-run the analysis ignoring the archive's fline.json, and write a new one. For a configuration that has gone stale because the project's stack changed — a different package manager, a new lockfile. Accepted immediately, not done: poll get_project until it leaves analyzing, then call get_config. This costs an analysis, while editing the file yourself is free and you know what changed.

A4.3/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

It discloses behavior the annotations can't: it's asynchronous ('Accepted immediately, not done'), requires polling ('poll get_project until it leaves analyzing'), and carries a cost ('This costs an analysis'). It also warns it ignores the existing file, which is the meaningful mutation detail beyond readOnlyHint=false.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three sentences, front-loaded with the action and effect, then trigger, then follow-up, then the cheaper-alternative warning. Sentences each earn their place; the only mild cost is the parenthetical about the stack, which could be tightened.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For an async mutation with no output schema, it covers the call-return distinction, the polling loop, and the cost tradeoff. What it omits is parameter guidance and any note on what happens to the archive if the analysis fails, which keeps it from a 5.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 0%, so the description should carry parameter meaning, but it never mentions project_id or idempotency_key. project_id is inferable from context ('the project's stack'), yet idempotency_key is entirely opaque and only the schema name hints at its role. With two params and no schema docs, this leaves a real gap.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

It states a specific verb ('Re-run the analysis'), resource ('fline.json' in the archive), and effect (write a new one), which distinguishes it from the read-only check_config/get_config siblings. The check isn't quite a 5 because 'the analysis' and 'fline.json' are only loosely identified without context on what the configuration is, so it's clear enough for routing but not crisp for an unfamiliar caller.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines5/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It gives an explicit trigger ('a configuration that has gone stale because the project's stack changed') with concrete examples (different package manager, new lockfile), and even names the cheaper alternative ('editing the file yourself is free'). The follow-up sequence (poll get_project, then get_config) routes the caller cleanly.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
