List a template's pages

list_pages
Read-onlyIdempotent

List the pages of a template: each page is a design of its own (a post, a story and a banner of one campaign, say). Returns the template's id, name and description, and each page's page_id, name, size and whether it is animated. Read-only. Use it after search_templates to get the page_id that get_design and the other design tools take; to copy pages use duplicate, and to add an empty page create_design with template_id.

A4.5/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

The annotations already declare readOnlyHint, idempotentHint, destructiveHint=false, and openWorldHint=false, so the safety profile is covered. The description adds useful behavioral context by listing the returned template and page fields and explaining how pages relate to designs, though it does not discuss errors or pagination.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is front-loaded with the core purpose and return shape, then gives concrete workflow guidance and alternatives. Every sentence contributes useful information without waste.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a single-parameter read-only tool, the description covers purpose, return values, workflow position, and alternatives to sibling tools. With no output schema, it appropriately explains what is returned, and annotations already cover safety and idempotency.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, and the single template_id parameter is already documented as coming from search_templates or create_design. The description refers to the same sources but does not add format or validation detail beyond the schema.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description gives a specific verb and resource ('List the pages of a template') and immediately clarifies that a page is an individual design within a template. It also distinguishes the tool from siblings by naming get_design, duplicate, and create_design for related operations.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines5/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It explicitly says to use this after search_templates to obtain page_id values needed by get_design and other design tools. It also routes adjacent needs elsewhere: duplicate for copying pages and create_design with template_id for adding an empty page.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
