Add credit (payment link)

add_credit

Returns a Stripe Checkout link for a PERSON to pay and add prepaid credit to this account; you cannot pay for them, so give them the link. Amounts: US$10, US$50 (+10% extra credit) or US$200 (+20%), or any amount from US$5 to US$1000. Credit lasts 12 months and is applied when the payment completes (check my_balance afterwards). Nothing is charged by calling this tool. Not available on the directory reviewer account. This call is free.

A4.3/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations cover the safety profile (readOnlyHint=false, openWorldHint=true, destructiveHint=false), and the description goes well beyond them: 'Nothing is charged by calling this tool', 'This call is free', credit is applied only when payment completes, credit lasts 12 months, and the tool is unavailable on the directory reviewer account. These are exactly the behavioral traits an agent cannot infer from structured fields.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The first clause front-loads what the tool returns, and the remaining sentences each carry distinct, useful information (payment mechanics, amount options, credit lifetime, no-charge guarantee, availability caveat). It is dense but not padded; only the pack restatement feels redundant against the schema.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description correctly explains the return value (a Stripe Checkout link) and the follow-up step (check my_balance), plus payment timing and credit lifetime. A minor gap remains around the link's validity window or what happens if payment is abandoned, but the definition is otherwise complete for a one-parameter tool.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100% and the schema already documents the amount, default, and pack bonuses (10/50/200 with +10%/+20%). The description largely restates those same packs and the 5–1000 range, adding little semantic detail beyond what is already in the schema, so the baseline of 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description states a specific verb+resource — returning a Stripe Checkout link to add prepaid credit — and distinguishes itself from the sibling my_balance by naming it as the follow-up check. An agent instantly knows this is a payment-link generator, not a balance query or direct charge tool.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It specifies the audience constraint ('Returns a Stripe Checkout link for a PERSON to pay... you cannot pay for them, so give them the link') and points to my_balance as the verification step. It also notes an eligibility exclusion (not available on the directory reviewer account), though it offers no alternative path for obtaining credit outside of this link.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
