prada_category

Read-only

Browse one Prada category by ID, returning every product/color variant in it. category_id is required and must be one of prada_categories' own categories[].id values. gender optionally narrows to Woman or Man. sort selects Prada's own relevance ranking or one of its price/newest orderings. A category with no products returns a well-formed empty result rather than an error.

TDQS

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint and openWorldHint, so the safety profile is covered. The description adds genuine behavioral context beyond that: the result shape ('every product/color variant') and the error-handling contract ('a category with no products returns a well-formed empty result rather than an error'), which is exactly the kind of edge-case disclosure an agent needs.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Four short sentences, front-loaded with the core action and followed by the ID dependency, filters, and error behavior. No filler, though the sort sentence slightly duplicates the schema enum.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

An output schema exists so return values need not be explained, and annotations cover the safety profile. The description covers the ID source, filter/sort semantics, and the empty-result edge case, leaving it essentially complete for correct invocation.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so the schema already documents page, limit, sort, gender, and category_id. The description largely restates that meaning (gender as Woman/Man, sort as relevance/price/newest) without adding new syntax or format detail, so the baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb+resource ('Browse one Prada category by ID') and the scope of the result ('every product/color variant in it'), which cleanly distinguishes it from sibling prada_categories (lists categories) and prada_product (single item). An agent can tell them apart without opening a schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explicitly routes the agent to prada_categories as the source of category_id, which is the key prerequisite. It also describes the gender and sort narrowing conditions. It stops short of naming explicit alternatives (e.g. when to prefer prada_search over browsing a category), so it is clear context rather than full when/when-not guidance.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
