fussballde_top_scorers

Read-only

Returns a page of a competition's top-scorer list with position, player, team and goals; page through it with limit (1 to 100, default 30) and offset. Tied scorers share a position. A competition without recorded scorers returns an empty list; cups and tournaments have no scorer list at all and return 404. Use fussballde_table for standings, fussballde_national_top_scorers for the nationwide ranking.

A4.5/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations only declare readOnlyHint and openWorldHint, so the description carries the rest and it does well: tied scorers share a position, competitions without recorded scorers return an empty list, cups/tournaments return 404. It does not state the underlying ordering (presumably by goals/position) or any rate/result-size caveats beyond the limit cap, leaving a small gap.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three dense sentences, front-loaded with purpose, then edge-case behavior, then sibling routing. Every clause carries information and nothing is repeated or padded.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With an output schema handling return shape and annotations covering read-only safety, the description fills the remaining gaps: scope, paging, tie handling, empty/404 outcomes, and alternative tools. An agent has everything needed to call it correctly.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100% and the description largely restates it — limit 1-100 default 30 and offset paging are already in the schema. The only added value is framing them as a paging mechanism, so baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource ('Returns a page of a competition's top-scorer list') and immediately enumerates the returned fields (position, player, team, goals). It explicitly separates itself from fussballde_table and fussballde_national_top_scorers, so an agent can pick it without opening a sibling schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines5/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives concrete routing rules: use fussballde_table for standings and fussballde_national_top_scorers for the nationwide ranking. It also names the conditions where this tool is the wrong choice (cups and tournaments have no scorer list and return 404), which is exactly the when-not guidance most descriptions omit.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
