gucci_category

Read-only

One Gucci category/browse listing: normalized products (name, price, colors, images, stock) plus the upstream's own product count, page count, sibling-category counts, and sort options. category comes from gucci_categories' own category field. page selects how many of the upstream's own batches to accumulate -- Gucci's own category pages page this way: requesting page=N returns every product from page 1 through page N combined, not a single page's worth. Defaults to 1 (36 products); request page equal to the response's own pages_count for the complete listing in one call.

A4.2/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint and openWorldHint, so the safety profile is covered. The description adds genuinely non-obvious behavior: page=N accumulates upstream pages 1..N rather than returning a single page, the default yields 36 products, and the response carries its own pages_count. That pagination disclosure is valuable context beyond the annotations.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loads the return contents, then moves to parameter behavior. Dense and mostly waste-free, though the pagination explanation is somewhat repetitive ('Gucci's own category pages page this way...not a single page's worth') and could be tightened.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

An output schema exists, so return values needn't be re-explained, and the description instead fills the more important gap: pagination semantics and the category parameter's origin. For a two-parameter browse tool this is essentially complete, with only the sibling-routing detail left implicit.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters5/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 0%, so the description must carry parameter meaning, and it does: category is sourced from gucci_categories' category field, and page is explained with its accumulation semantics, default value, per-page product count, and the recommended value (pages_count) for a complete listing.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb+resource ('One Gucci category/browse listing') and enumerates what it returns (normalized products with name/price/colors/images/stock plus counts and sort options). It references gucci_categories as the source of the category field, which implicitly distinguishes it from the category-index sibling, but it does not explicitly contrast itself with gucci_search or gucci_product.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Provides clear operational context: the category value comes from gucci_categories' own category field, and it explains the accumulation semantics and how to request the full listing via pages_count. It gives no explicit when-not or named alternative (e.g. gucci_search), so it stops short of full routing guidance.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
