muninn_bundle_create

Idempotent

A bundle is an ordered outline of the user's memories for a book or project: sections and items, each item pointing at a memory. This creates a new, empty bundle with a title and description, and returns its rootKey (the key every other bundle tool takes) and the id of the memory holding its title and description. Fails if the slug is already used by one of the user's bundles.

Input Schema

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
slugYesUnique slug for this bundle root (e.g. 'my-book'). Lowercase letters, digits and hyphens only, max 64. Frozen at creation.
titleYesHuman-readable bundle title
projectNoProject slug to scope the backing metadata memory. Omit for global.
okf_typeNoType of the root (default 'bundle')bundle
descriptionNoHigh-level description or thesis

TDQS

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Beyond the annotations (readOnlyHint=false, destructiveHint=false, idempotentHint=true), the description discloses two valuable behaviors: it returns the rootKey and the id of the memory holding title/description, and it fails if the slug is already in use. There is a mild tension between idempotentHint=true and the stated failure-on-duplicate behavior, but this is not a direct contradiction.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three sentences, front-loaded with the concept definition before the action and return values. Every sentence carries information, though the opening conceptual framing is slightly longer than strictly needed for a caller already familiar with bundles.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description usefully explains the return values (rootKey and title/description memory id) and the duplicate-slug failure mode, which is what an agent needs to chain calls correctly. Minor gap: the project and okf_type parameters are not touched on, though the schema covers them fully.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so all five parameters are already documented, setting the baseline at 3. The description reinforces that title and description are stored in a backing memory and that slug uniqueness matters, but adds little syntax or format detail beyond the schema.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description defines what a bundle is (ordered outline of memories: sections and items) and states the specific action: creating a new, empty bundle. It clearly separates this from node-level sibling tools like muninn_bundle_node_create by specifying the bundle is created 'empty' at this stage.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It establishes the creation context and implicitly positions this as a prerequisite by noting the returned rootKey is 'the key every other bundle tool takes.' However, it does not explicitly name alternatives or state when not to create a bundle, so guidance stops short of the top tier.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
