List warehouses

laudus_list_warehouses
Read-only

List warehouses (bodegas) with filters, sorting, field selection and paging (rows 25 by default, at most 200). Field names follow the Laudus data model, for example warehouseId, name, city. When a page is full, ask for the next one with offset = offset + limit. POST /production/warehouses/list.

Input Schema

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
limitNoRows to return, 1-200 (default 25).
fieldsNoFields to return (default: all). Nested names work, e.g. customer.name, items.quantity.
filterNoConditions, all of which must hold (AND).
offsetNoRows to skip (default 0). For the next page pass offset + limit.
order_byNoSort order.

TDQS

A3.8/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true, destructiveHint=false and openWorldHint=true, so safety is covered. The description adds behavior beyond that: default page size of 25, a hard cap of 200, and the explicit next-page rule (offset = offset + limit), which prevents the common pagination error. It does not describe the response envelope, which keeps it from a 5.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three tight sentences, front-loaded with purpose, then fields, then paging, and every sentence carries actionable content. The trailing POST path is slightly redundant but arguably useful for debugging.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

No output schema exists, so the description compensates by naming example return fields and giving the pagination loop. For a 5-parameter, fully documented list tool that is sufficient; only the shape of the result envelope and total-count behavior remain unstated.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3; the description earns extra by naming the Laudus data-model field identifiers (warehouseId, name, city), which is the one thing the schema cannot tell the agent when supplying filter/fields/order_by values. It still omits operator and date-format details that matter for filtering.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description states a specific verb and resource ("List warehouses (bodegas)") and immediately enumerates the supported capabilities: filters, sorting, field selection and paging. It is unambiguous against the sibling list_* tools because no other sibling targets warehouses, but it never explicitly names or contrasts those siblings, so it stops short of a 5.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Use is implied by the name and the enumeration of capabilities, and the pagination sentence gives operational guidance for continuing a listing. However, there is no statement of when to use this rather than a sibling (e.g. get_product_stock or list_stock) and no preconditions or exclusions.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
