List presence and absence requests

jethr_list_absence_requests
Read-only

List leave, sickness, remote-work and other presence/absence requests with status (APPROVED, REJECTED, PENDING), kind, dates, hours, note and approver. Filters combine with AND. Use status filtering on the result for pending requests. Paged: pass next_page as page. GET /public-api/v1/presence-absence-requests/.

TDQS

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true, so the safety profile is covered. The description adds real behavior beyond that: AND-combined filters, client-side status filtering, and paging via next_page passed as page. It stops short of stating page size or total-count behavior.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three front-loaded sentences that lead with what is returned, then filter/paging mechanics. The trailing raw endpoint string adds little for an agent but costs only a few tokens.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description usefully enumerates the returned fields, and it covers paging and filter combination for a 9-param all-optional tool. Gaps are minor: no default page size and no note that status is not a server-side filter parameter.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3. The description still earns credit by explaining filter conjunction semantics and the next_page→page paging convention, which the schema does not express, but it doesn't clarify the date-boundary interplay among the six date params.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb ('List') and resource (presence/absence requests) and enumerates what each item contains: status values, kind, dates, hours, note, approver. The list-vs-create/update/delete split from the sibling tools is unambiguous.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It gives a scoping hint ('filters combine with AND') and a status tip, but never says when to reach for this versus jethr_list_absence_policies or jethr_get_absence_request_kind, which the schema itself references for codenames. Usage is implied rather than spelled out.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
