TDQS

A4/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true, destructiveHint=false and openWorldHint=true, so safety is covered. The description adds value beyond them: the required read_orders scope and the fact that date filters are interpreted in the store's own time zone, plus the concrete endpoint GET /api/3.0/orders.json.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three short sentences, front-loaded with purpose, then filters, then permission and endpoint. Nothing is redundant or padding; each clause carries information.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a 14-optional-parameter list tool with no output schema and full schema coverage, the description covers purpose, filters, auth scope and endpoint. It omits pagination guidance (page/limit/next_page behavior) and any hint at result size or ordering defaults, which would help an agent drive multi-page retrieval.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, with every one of the 14 parameters documented including enum values and date formats, so the baseline is 3. The description's filter summary and time-zone note largely restate what the schema already says per-parameter and add no format or precedence detail.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

Opens with a specific verb and resource ('List orders') and enumerates the payload fields returned (customer, items, totals, payment, fulfillment status) plus the cross-channel scope. It is clear on its own, but it never names the sibling easystore_get_order as the single-order alternative, so the boundary is inferred rather than stated.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explicitly lists the filter dimensions (payment/fulfillment status, customer, dates) and states the prerequisite 'Needs read_orders', which is real routing context an agent needs before calling. It stops short of exclusions such as 'for a single order use get_order' or how this differs from easystore_list_order_transactions / easystore_list_checkouts.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
