get_partner_maintenance_overview

Read-onlyIdempotent

For a partner, reseller, OEM or Enterprise group account: maintenance across every account it services. Returns counters (in maintenance, scheduled, overdue, open problems, open alerts, out of order, accounts needing a visit), one row per serviced account (printers, open problems, overdue jobs, next scheduled job, next visit, agreement), the most recent open problems, and the accounts due a visit. Fails on an account that is not a partner with the maintenance module.

A3.9/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnly, idempotent, and non-destructive, so the safety profile is covered. The description goes beyond them by disclosing the error behavior on non-partner accounts and the aggregate nature of the result, though it says nothing about pagination or cost for large account sets.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with the account scope, then a compact enumeration of returned counters, rows, problems, and visit-due accounts. It is dense but every clause adds a distinct return element; the structure is list-like rather than padded.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness3/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description does the heavy lifting on return values and error behavior, which is a strong contribution. However, the two input parameters are completely unexplained, leaving a real gap for a tool whose invocation the agent must get right.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters2/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 0% with two parameters, and the description never mentions either one. The enum filter on 'problems' ('all' vs 'sent_to_partner') and the 1–200 'problem_limit' bound are left entirely undocumented, so the description fails to compensate for the coverage gap.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb (get) and resource (partner maintenance overview) and pins the scope precisely to partner/reseller/OEM/Enterprise group accounts across all serviced accounts. This distinguishes it cleanly from siblings like list_partner_maintenance_alerts and list_partner_maintenance_visits, which cover narrower slices.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It clearly states the applicable account types and the failure condition ('an account that is not a partner with the maintenance module'), which tells the agent when the tool is valid. It does not, however, name alternatives (e.g. get_maintenance_dashboard for a single account), so routing is left partly to inference.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
