Eth Get Block
eth_get_blockOne Ethereum block by number, tag (latest/finalized/safe) or hash: timestamp, transaction count, gas used against the limit, base fee, block builder and size. When to use: block-level context - how full is Ethereum right now, when a block was produced, what the base fee was, or which builder produced it. Do not use: for a transaction (eth_get_transaction) or for fees across blocks (eth_get_fee_rates). Returns: found, number, hash, parent_hash, timestamp, age_s, tx_count, gas_used, gas_limit, gas_used_pct, base_fee_gwei, miner, size_bytes. Boundary: block bodies are retained from 15,500,000 (2022-09-14) only; older heights return a pruned-history error, not an empty block.
