Idn Search Regulations

idn_search_regulations
Read-onlyIdempotent

Search Indonesia's national register of laws and regulations (Undang-Undang statutes, Perpu, Peraturan Pemerintah, Peraturan Presiden, Keppres, Inpres) by Indonesian title words, instrument type and year. Returns each instrument's citation, title, legal status (in force / partially amended / revoked), enactment and promulgation dates and a link to the signed PDF, from the State Secretariat JDIH (jdih.setneg.go.id). Use for "what Indonesian laws exist about X", "list Indonesian statutes passed in 2023", "is UU 11/2020 Cipta Kerja still in force".

TDQS

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint, openWorldHint, idempotentHint, and destructiveHint=false, so the safety profile is covered. The description adds valuable context about the return format (citation, title, legal status, dates, PDF link) and source, going beyond structured data, though it omits pagination or rate-limit details.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three sentences with no waste: first states what it does and the search dimensions, second describes the return values, third gives usage examples. Front-loaded and appropriately sized.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

Given the absence of an output schema, the description fully covers what is returned (citation, title, legal status, dates, PDF link). Annotations cover safety, and the schema covers parameters, so the description is complete for an agent to call it correctly.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so the schema already documents all six parameters thoroughly. The description only briefly restates that searches can be by title words, instrument type, and year, adding little semantic value beyond what the schema provides.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb (Search) and resource (Indonesia's national register of laws and regulations) and enumerates instrument types. It does not explicitly differentiate itself from siblings like idn_list_statutes or idn_regulation_detail, so it falls short of the top score.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Provides three concrete example queries that clarify when to use the tool, giving clear context. However, it does not name alternatives or specify when not to use it, leaving that to inference.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
