TikTok Profile Videos

social_tiktok_profile_videos
Read-only

Fetches videos posted by a TikTok user, sortable by latest or most popular — use this to get a creator's video feed or TikToks. Returns aweme_list, an array of video objects each containing aweme_id, desc (caption), statistics (play_count, digg_count/likes, comment_count, share_count, collect_count/saves), and video (download URLs, duration, cover image). Paginate with max_cursor from the previous response, keeping the same region and sort_by throughout a cursor chain. Known limitation: this feed is not an exhaustive inventory of a creator's public posts. TikTok's web page, single-post lookup, comments, and profile feed use different public sources and request contexts; a post may be retrievable through one and unavailable or missing through another. A missing feed item does not prove deletion, and a returned item does not guarantee browser playback in your country. Try the creator's country with a two-letter region code, restarting pagination when changing it, but country selection does not guarantee completeness. Repeated requests for the same page can also return different item sets. For campaign tracking, retain submitted post URLs/IDs and refresh them with /v2/tiktok/video rather than relying only on feed discovery. Retry a suspect page within a bounded budget and deduplicate by aweme_id; do not merge cursors from separate responses. Examples and troubleshooting. Scrapes posts from a TikTok profile. TikTok can omit individual posts even after full pagination; region selection does not guarantee complete coverage. Examples and troubleshooting. Completed lookups cost at least 10 Nexscope credits. Actual cost depends on the operation and requested options. Repeated requests may purchase data again. TikTok Profile Videos API View Pricing Get posts from a TikTok profile. Posts may be missing even after full pagination; region selection does not guarantee complete coverage. 1 credit per request Whether to include pinned posts. Defaults to true. Set to false to exclude posts marked as pinned, including with trim=true. Keep this value unchanged while paginating. Filtering can produce shorter or empty pages; follow has_more and max_cursor. Successful pages still cost 1 credit, including empty results.

Input Schema

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
trimNoSet to true for a trimmed down version of the response
handleYesTikTok handle
regionNoCountry code passed to the profile-feed source. Defaults to US. If a profile should have videos but returns none, try another relevant two-letter country code. Changing this value does not guarantee that region-restricted posts will appear.
sort_byNoWhat to sort by
user_idNoTikTok user id. Use this for faster responses.
max_cursorNoCursor to get more videos. Get 'max_cursor' from previous response.
include_pinnedNoWhether to include pinned posts. Defaults to true. Set to false to exclude posts marked as pinned, including with trim=true. Keep this value unchanged while paginating. Filtering can produce shorter or empty pages; follow has_more and max_cursor. Successful pages still cost 1 credit, including empty results.

TDQS

A4.3/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Beyond the read-only and open-world annotations, it discloses non-exhaustive and nondeterministic results, regional playback limitations, cursor-chain constraints, and charges for repeated or empty successful requests. However, “at least 10 Nexscope credits” conflicts with “1 credit per request,” making the billing behavior unclear and preventing a top score.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness2/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The useful purpose and return-shape information is front-loaded, but the definition then repeats its availability warning and troubleshooting link, restates its purpose several times, and includes raw pricing fragments and copied schema text. Much of the latter half is redundant or contradictory rather than earning its place.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a seven-parameter external feed without an output schema, it supplies the main response fields, pagination workflow, completeness caveats, and recovery strategies needed to call and interpret it correctly. Its principal remaining weakness is dependable cost information, compounded by referring to an API path rather than clearly naming the corresponding sibling tool.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Although the schema documents all seven parameters, the description adds valuable operational rules: keep `region` and `sort_by` fixed within a cursor chain, restart pagination after changing region, and never merge cursors from separate responses. The closing `include_pinned` paragraph merely repeats the schema and adds no further semantic value.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The opening states exactly what is fetched—videos posted by a TikTok user—along with the creator-feed use case and latest/popular sorting. The later recommendation to refresh known posts through `/v2/tiktok/video` also distinguishes feed discovery from single-video lookup.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines5/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It explicitly warns against relying on this non-exhaustive feed alone for campaign tracking and names an alternative endpoint for refreshing known URLs or IDs. It also explains when to paginate, change regions, retry pages, and deduplicate results, providing unusually actionable selection and invocation guidance.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
