list_tracker_suggestions

Smart-tracking state of a tracker the user owns. pending: transactions the AI suggests linking, each with a suggestion id, score (0-1), the AI reason, and a transaction summary; accept or reject them by suggestion id with accept_tracker_suggestions / reject_tracker_suggestions. aiMatched: transactions the AI linked or the user accepted, still linked, with their reason. scan: status (idle, queued, running), startedAt, lastScannedAt, and pausedReason (archived, no_start_date, ended, plan, allowance, unavailable) when scanning cannot run; plan means the plan does not include smart tracking and the user has no AI connection of their own.

TDQS

A3.7/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

With no annotations, the description carries the full behavioral burden and does much of it: it details the structure of pending items (suggestion id, 0-1 score, AI reason), the meaning of aiMatched, and the full scan status/pausedReason vocabulary. It does not explicitly state read-only/side-effect-free behavior, but the richness of the return disclosure is well above the annotation-free baseline.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

It is dense but front-loaded: the opening sentence frames the tool, then each subsequent clause maps to one bucket (pending, aiMatched, scan). Every sentence earns its place by disclosing return structure, though the enum-heavy scan sentence is fairly packed.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

There is no output schema and no annotations, so the description must explain the return values, and it does so thoroughly across all three buckets including pausedReason values. It is nearly complete for a one-parameter read tool; only an explicit read-only statement is missing.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

There is a single parameter (trackerId) at 100% schema description coverage, so the schema already documents it fully. The description's phrase 'a tracker the user owns' restates ownership scope already captured in the schema, adding no new syntax or constraint, so the baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description names a specific resource (smart-tracking state of a tracker the user owns) and enumerates the three response buckets (pending, aiMatched, scan), which lets an agent tell it apart from action siblings like accept_tracker_suggestions. The listing verb itself is only implied rather than stated, so it falls short of a full 5.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It routes the agent to accept_tracker_suggestions / reject_tracker_suggestions for the follow-up actions, which is useful context. However, it never states when to call this tool versus get_trackers or get_tracker_spending_stats, so the guidance is implied rather than explicit.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
