delete_venture_event

Delete a venture event. Linked bank transactions are unlinked first (their original state is restored). The initial_investment cannot be deleted while other events still exist on the deal — delete the other events first. Pass deleteLinkedTransactions=true to also remove the bank tx rows themselves (not just the link); only do this when the user explicitly asks. Confirm with the user before calling.

A4.4/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

With no annotations, the description carries the full behavioral burden and does so well: it discloses that linked bank transactions are unlinked first and their original state restored, that setting deleteLinkedTransactions=true permanently removes bank transaction rows, and that the initial_investment has a dependency constraint. It also adds a safety instruction to confirm with the user.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is front-loaded with the core action, then each following sentence adds distinct operational value: side effects, dependency, parameter semantics, and a safety check. There is no filler.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a delete tool with no annotations and no output schema, the description covers the essential context: what is deleted, what happens to linked transactions, dependency restrictions, the destructive option, and a confirmation requirement. No critical behavioral gap remains for an agent to call it correctly.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, establishing a baseline of 3. The description goes beyond the schema by explaining the user-explicit-ask condition for deleteLinkedTransactions and the special constraint on the initial_investment event, but it adds no further semantic detail for the eventId parameter.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description states a specific verb and resource ('Delete a venture event') and adds constraints that clarify the scope. However, it does not explicitly distinguish this tool from sibling delete tools such as delete_venture_deal or delete_venture_platform, so it falls short of full sibling differentiation.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

The description gives strong when/when-not guidance: deleteLinkedTransactions only 'when the user explicitly asks', initial_investment cannot be deleted while other events exist, and it says to confirm before calling. It does not name alternative tools (e.g., update_venture_event or delete_venture_deal) to route the agent, so it stops short of a full 5.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
