mio_video_trim

Trim Video — Set the start and end of an MP4, WebM or MOV clip, preview the selected section, and save a trimmed copy in MiOffice.. Video And Audio Studio run — processes in the browser but uses more credits per run than the Document / Image / Scanner workspaces. Welcome credits cover a limited number of runs. Day Pass does not include this workspace. All three credit-based workspaces unlock with the same one-time credit pack — there is no per-workspace subscription. See mioffice.ai/pricing for current plans.

B3.2/5.0
Behavior3/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

With no annotations, the description must carry behavioral disclosure. It usefully states that processing happens in the browser, that this workspace costs more credits per run, and that Day Pass does not include it. However, it does not explain file input/output behavior, whether the original is preserved, or what the tool returns, leaving meaningful gaps.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness2/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The useful purpose statement is front-loaded, but the majority of the description is repeated pricing and credit-pack marketing that does not help an agent invoke the tool. Multiple sentences about subscriptions and pricing could be removed without losing invocation-relevant information.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a zero-parameter tool with no output schema, the description gives enough to understand the action, supported formats, preview step, and saved-copy result. The pricing details are extraneous but do not prevent correct invocation; file handling details are the main omission.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

The tool has zero parameters, so there are no parameter semantics to explain. The baseline for a zero-parameter tool is 4, and the description does not introduce confusing parameter-like details.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The first sentence states a clear verb and resource: trim a video by setting start and end, previewing, and saving a copy in MP4, WebM, or MOV. It is specific enough to distinguish from generic video converters, though it does not explicitly name sibling alternatives such as mio_video_mp3_cutter or mio_video_merge.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines2/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

There is no guidance on when to use this tool versus sibling video editing tools, nor any prerequisites or exclusions. The credit and pricing notes describe workspace constraints, not invocation guidance.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
