Verify readiness fix

verify_readiness_fix

Re-check a fix without a full scan. With opportunity_id, re-checks an inbox readiness task; the result updates the task. With check_id, re-checks that open finding on its affected pages. Returns pending with the re-check's id; follow it with get_operation or get_readiness_finding's check_request_id. Cost: by opportunity_id free, once every 10 minutes; by check_id one of the plan's monthly re-checks.

Input Schema

TableJSON Schema
NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
brandYesBrand or study: its ID from list_brands, or its exact name. A partial name is refused.
check_idNoA check ID from get_readiness.
opportunity_idNoA readiness opportunity ID from list_opportunities.
idempotency_keyYesA unique key for this intended action. Reuse it with identical arguments when retrying: the write is not made again, and the reply is the first call's resource as saved (replayed: true) with current status; read tools show the resource's current state. Use a new key for another action.

A4.7/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Adds substantial context the annotations do not: the write side effect (the result updates the task), the returned pending state and its id, the follow-up call chain, and exact cost/rate limits (free once per 10 minutes by opportunity_id; one monthly re-check by check_id). This is exactly the disclosure burden for a non-readOnly, non-idempotent tool.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loads the core action and scope, then branches into the two modes, then states cost last. Dense but every sentence carries distinct, needed information.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With an output schema present the description need not explain return values, yet it still signals the pending status and the correct follow-up tools, and it covers cost and side effects. Nothing required to invoke it correctly is missing.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3, but the description goes further by explaining the mutually-exclusive semantics of opportunity_id vs check_id and what each produces, which the schema alone does not convey.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb (re-check) and resource (a fix), and immediately differentiates itself from the bulk sibling with 'without a full scan', which rules out run_readiness_scan. The two operating modes are named concretely.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explicitly tells the agent which parameter selects which behavior (opportunity_id re-checks an inbox readiness task; check_id re-checks an open finding) and names the follow-up tools (get_operation, get_readiness_finding). It lacks an explicit 'do not use when...' clause, but the routing is clear.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
