Richiedi il noleggio di un oggetto

rentme_book_thing

A4.4/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

With no annotations, the description carries the full burden and does so well: it discloses the 24-hour owner acceptance window, the 12-hour payment-link expiry, that the rental only becomes confirmed after payment, and that contacts are exchanged only then. This is rich lifecycle and side-effect context an agent could not infer from the schema.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Four sentences, front-loaded with the action, then the workflow, then the confirmation advice. Each sentence carries information, though the flow is dense enough that minor trimming could help; nothing is redundant.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a multi-step workflow tool with no output schema and no annotations, the description provides what the agent needs: what happens after the call, what is returned (id, codice_accesso), and how that output is reused with sibling tools. Nothing essential is missing.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100% across 11 parameters, so the schema already documents each field's meaning and constraints. The description adds only that the returned id and codice_accesso exist, not anything about the input parameters, so the baseline 3 is appropriate.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource: sends a rental request on behalf of a person for a thing. The agent can distinguish it from rentme_check_rental_status and rentme_cancel_rental, which it also names explicitly.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives a clear precondition ('Chiedi sempre conferma alla persona prima di prenotare, mostrando periodo e prezzo totale') and points to rentme_check_rental_status as the place to find the payment link, plus notes that the returned id/codice_accesso are needed to check status or cancel. It does not spell out explicit when-not-to-use cases or the ordering against rentme_search_things/rentme_get_thing to obtain thing_id.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
