Ecommerce Shopify Stores

ecommerce_shopify_stores
Read-only

Products of a Shopify store from its public /products.json feed: title, type, vendor, variant prices and whether each variant is in stock. Works only for stores that keep the feed public; you give the store domain, e.g. allbirds.com. Price: $0.002 in USDC per successful call, paid with x402 (Base, Solana or Arc); failed calls are not charged.

TDQS

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint and openWorldHint, so the safety profile is partly covered. The description adds meaningful behavior beyond annotations: pricing of $0.002 USDC per successful call, supported payment networks via x402, and that failed calls are not charged. It does not mention rate limits or feed freshness.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is compact and front-loaded: it states what the tool returns, the public-feed constraint, the domain input example, and the payment terms without redundant filler. Every sentence contributes useful information.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With an output schema present and full schema parameter coverage, the description does not need to explain return values or parameter formats. It covers the critical operational constraints: public feed availability, required domain input, payment mechanism, and failed-call charging, making it complete for correct invocation.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so both parameters are already documented in the schema. The description repeats the shop-domain example but adds no additional semantics for the limit parameter or domain format beyond what the schema provides.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description clearly identifies the resource and source: products from a Shopify store's public /products.json feed, including the specific fields returned. It distinguishes itself from general ecommerce scrapers by requiring the public Shopify feed, though it does not explicitly name a sibling alternative or use a direct action verb.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It states a clear prerequisite: the tool works only for stores that keep /products.json public, and the user must supply the store domain. It does not explicitly compare against other ecommerce tools or say when not to use this one beyond the public-feed constraint.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
