submit_bing_content

Idempotent

SubmitContent: pushes a page's full content (a base64-encoded HTTP message) directly to Bing for a project's matched site, bypassing a crawl. FREE (no credits), but this is a MUTATION — unlike get_bing_site_overview, it queues real work on the operator's live Bing Webmaster account. Bring-your-own-key: requires BING_WEBMASTER_API_KEY. Answers { ok: false, reason: 'not_configured' } when unset, or 'no_matching_site' when the project's domain has no verified match on the account.

Input Schema

TableJSON Schema
NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
urlYesAbsolute URL of the page being submitted.
projectIdYesRequired. The MisarSEO project ID to scope this call to. Get one from list_projects.
httpMessageYesThe page's full HTTP response, already base64-encoded by the caller — this tool does not encode it.
dynamicServingNoOptional dynamic-serving indicator Bing accepts alongside the content.
structuredDataNoOptional structured-data payload Bing accepts alongside the content.

A4.4/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Goes well beyond the annotations: states it is FREE (no credits) despite being a mutation, discloses that it queues real work on the operator's live Bing Webmaster account, and names the auth dependency (BING_WEBMASTER_API_KEY) plus concrete failure reasons ('not_configured', 'no_matching_site'). That is exactly the context annotations cannot carry.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

One dense paragraph, front-loaded with the action and followed by cost, mutation warning, auth, and error behavior. The redundant 'SubmitContent:' prefix is the only waste; everything else earns its place.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a mutation tool with no output schema, it covers cost, side effects, credentials, and the two likely error returns, so an agent has everything needed to invoke it and interpret failure. Nothing material is missing.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so all five parameters including the base64 caller-encoding contract are already documented in the schema. The description's note that the payload is a base64-encoded HTTP message and that the tool does not encode it largely restates the schema, so baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource with scope: 'pushes a page's full content ... directly to Bing for a project's matched site, bypassing a crawl.' This distinguishes it from the read sibling get_bing_site_overview and from the feed/URL submission tools without needing to open a schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explicitly flags the mutation nature and contrasts it with get_bing_site_overview, and clarifies it bypasses a crawl (the reason to use it). It stops short of routing against the closest alternatives such as submit_bing_feed or submit_indexnow, so the when-to-use-vs-sibling guidance is partial.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
