get_bing_detail_stats

Read-onlyIdempotent

GetQueryTrafficStats + GetPageStats + GetPageQueryStats + GetQueryPageStats + GetQueryPageDetailStats: per-query and per-page search-performance detail for a project's matched Bing site. FREE (no credits). pageStats (site-wide, weekly) is always attempted. queryTrafficStats/queryPageStats are null unless query is given; pageQueryStats is null unless pageUrl is given; queryPageDetailStats is null unless both are given — a null section absent from errors was not requested, not a failure. pageStats carries one unresolved caveat: Microsoft's own doc page is internally inconsistent about whether that method's query field on each row holds a query string or a page URL — surfaced as-is. Bring-your-own-key: requires BING_WEBMASTER_API_KEY. Answers { ok: false, reason: 'not_configured' } when unset, or 'no_matching_site' when the project's domain has no verified match on the account.

TDQS

A4.6/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already cover the read-only/idempotent/non-destructive profile, and the description adds substantial context on top: it is free (no credits), requires a bring-your-own BING_WEBMASTER_API_KEY, returns structured { ok: false, reason } shapes ('not_configured', 'no_matching_site'), and discloses an unresolved upstream doc inconsistency about pageStats' `query` field.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Information-dense and front-loaded, with the scoping sentence first and caveats after. The opening enumeration of five internal API method names is slightly verbose relative to what an agent needs, but every subsequent sentence (free tier, key requirement, null semantics, error shapes) earns its place.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description carries the full burden of describing returns and it does so: which sections appear, when they are null, why, and the two failure reasons. An agent has everything needed to call and interpret the response.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3, but the description adds value beyond the schema by explaining the conditional-null semantics that link parameters to output sections — and crucially that a null section absent from `errors` means 'not requested,' not 'failed.' That meaning is not derivable from the parameter descriptions alone.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource — per-query and per-page Bing search-performance detail for a project's matched site — and names the five underlying stat sections it composes. This clearly separates it from siblings like get_bing_site_overview, get_bing_url_info, and get_bing_keyword_research.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives clear conditional guidance: queryTrafficStats/queryPageStats require `query`, pageQueryStats requires `pageUrl`, queryPageDetailStats requires both, and pageStats is always attempted. It does not, however, explicitly contrast when to call this versus get_bing_site_overview or get_bing_feed_details, so the routing is inferred from 'detail' rather than stated.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
