repurpose_content

Turn one source — a URL, pasted text or markdown, or an RSS item — into channel-native variants such as an X thread, LinkedIn post or carousel, Instagram caption or reel script, newsletter, or YouTube description. Fetches the URL, extracts the core message, writes each variant with AI, and saves source and variants. Returns each saved variant with its id. Nothing is scheduled or published. Counts against the monthly ContentRipple allowance.

Input Schema

TDQS

A4.7/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations declare readOnlyHint=false, openWorldHint=true and idempotentHint=false, and the description adds substantial context beyond them: it fetches the URL, extracts the core message, uses AI to write each variant, persists source and variants, returns each saved variant with its id, and consumes the monthly ContentRipple allowance (a quota/rate constraint). That is rich behavioral disclosure the structured fields do not carry.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Four tight sentences, front-loaded with the core transformation, followed by mechanics, return shape, side-effect guard, and quota. Every sentence earns its place with no redundancy.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description usefully states the return shape (each saved variant with its id). Combined with annotations covering safety and the description covering side effects and quota, nothing an agent needs to invoke this correctly is missing.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3, but the description goes further by naming the concrete variant outputs and the source kinds (URL, pasted text/markdown, RSS) that map onto the format and source_type parameters. It clarifies intent of each field in prose rather than merely restating the enum.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

Specific verb (turn/repurpose) plus resource (content into channel-native variants), and it enumerates the concrete input kinds and output formats. An agent can tell this transforms a single source into derived variants, distinct from generate_posts-style tools, without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Implies usage strongly (turn ONE source into variants) and the line 'Nothing is scheduled or published' routes the agent away from publish/schedule tools like schedule_content_variant. However, no sibling is named explicitly and no explicit when-not condition is given, so it falls short of a full 5.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
