reply_to_post

Destructive

Post a public reply/comment on one of the user's ALREADY-PUBLISHED posts, on the platform it was published to. It goes live immediately and cannot be recalled from here. Show the user the exact text and get their explicit approval before calling. Not every platform supports replies; an unsupported one returns an error.

TDQS

A4.2/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare destructiveHint=true, idempotentHint=false and openWorldHint=true, so the safety profile is partly covered. The description nevertheless adds real value beyond them: publication is immediate, it cannot be recalled from this tool, and unsupported platforms fail with an error rather than silently no-op. It does not state what the call returns or the resulting reply's visibility to the user's audience.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Four short sentences, each carrying a distinct payload: what it does, irreversibility, the approval workflow, and the error condition. The action scope is front-loaded and there is no filler or restatement of the tool name.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a destructive, outward-facing action with no output schema, the description covers scope, irreversibility, required user approval, and platform-support failure, which is close to complete. The only mild gap is that it never points at related follow-up tooling (e.g. list_persona_replies) to inspect replies after posting.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100% for both required parameters, including the origin of post_id (list_posts, status published) and the message length bounds. The description adds no syntax, formatting, or constraint detail beyond the schema, so the baseline 3 for schema-driven parameters is appropriate.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb (post a public reply/comment) and a tightly scoped resource (one of the user's ALREADY-PUBLISHED posts, on its original platform). The 'already-published' qualifier and 'reply/comment' phrasing cleanly separate it from siblings like generate_persona_reply and schedule_post without needing to open any schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives a clear precondition (post must already be published) and an explicit operating instruction: show the user the exact text and obtain explicit approval before calling. It also warns that unsupported platforms error out. It stops short of naming an alternative tool, so it is strong context rather than a full when/when-not/alternative map.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
