Submit Owner Studio local research packet

newsroom_submit_local_packet
Idempotent

Submit a complete, locally researched packet through Owner Studio local mode. This does not use the provider-backed drafter or publisher. The Site processes the owner’s local job directly and returns its latest status. Use a new UUID idempotencyKey for each packet and reuse it only for an exact retry. Do not submit a replacement or published-story revision through this tool.

TDQS

A3.8/5.0
Behavior3/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare idempotentHint=true, destructiveHint=false, and openWorldHint=false, so the safety profile is covered structurally. The description reinforces the idempotency contract and notes the call returns the job's latest status, but it adds little beyond what the annotations and schema already convey and says nothing about auth, rate limits, or failure modes.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Four sentences, zero filler, with purpose first, exclusions and retry semantics after. Each sentence carries a distinct constraint an agent needs before calling.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description compensates by stating the return ('its latest status'), and the nested packet structure plus idempotency rules are covered. Minor gap: nothing about the status vocabulary or what happens to an already-processed packet with a reused key.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100% and BOTH description-level param notes (fresh UUID / exact-retry reuse) duplicate the schema's own idempotencyKey text, so no new meaning is added. The localPacket mention of 'image rights metadata' is the only detail beyond the schema, which itself is permissively typed.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource ('Submit a complete, locally researched packet through Owner Studio local mode') and scopes it by negating the provider-backed drafter/publisher path. This distinguishes it from the publish/draft siblings in spirit, though it never names them, leaving some disambiguation to inference.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives a clear when-not: 'Do not submit a replacement or published-story revision through this tool.' It also prescribes idempotency-key hygiene (new UUID per packet, reuse only for an exact retry). It stops short of naming the alternative tool an agent should use for revisions or replacements.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
