verify_lead_alert

Check one lead alert by seq: its commit status and opBNB transaction, and whether it folds into its anchor. Pass the alert you hold (the row from lead_alerts or from a push, with its salt) as alert and the answer says whether its hash recomputes to the sealed one

TDQS

A3.5/5.0
Behavior3/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

With no annotations, the description carries the full burden. It discloses the verification semantics (hash recompute against the sealed value, anchor folding) and implies a read-only check, but never states side effects, permissions, or that it is non-mutating. Reasonable but not rich behavioral context.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Two sentences, front-loaded with the verb and resource, then the input instruction. Dense but no filler; the jargon-heavy phrasing slightly reduces immediate clarity.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness3/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

An output schema exists, so return values need not be spelled out. For a verification tool with a nested object parameter, the description covers the flow adequately but leaves the alert object's shape and the exact verification outcome format to inference.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 0%, so the description is the only source of parameter meaning. It explains both: seq identifies the alert, and alert is the row the caller holds (from lead_alerts or a push, with its salt). This meaningfully compensates for the empty schema, though the nested alert object's internal structure remains unstated.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb (Check/verify) and resource (one lead alert by seq) and enumerates what is verified: commit status, opBNB transaction, and whether it folds into its anchor. This distinguishes it from siblings like lead_alerts (listing) and lead_alert_spec. Some terms ("folds into its anchor", "sealed one") are project jargon, but the core operation is unambiguous.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It tells the agent where to obtain the input ("the row from lead_alerts or from a push, with its salt"), which implies the usage context. However, it gives no explicit when-to-use vs alternatives (e.g., verify_reveal, verify_fill, verify_instrument_signal) and no when-not conditions.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
