TDQS

A4.4/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

The annotations already declare this is not read-only and not destructive, and the description adds substantial behavioral context beyond them: pricing per started 600s, TTL range, no free trial, payment returning access_token and capability without an account, idempotency behavior, included reads/OTP polling/deletion/50 messages, and delivery guarantees. This is exactly the kind of operational detail an agent needs before invoking a paid creation tool.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is dense and front-loaded with the core purpose, then packs pricing, TTL, payment behavior, idempotency, inclusions, and limitations into a few short clauses. Every statement appears relevant to deciding whether and how to call the tool.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

Given that an output schema exists, the description does not need to document return fields in detail, and it still mentions access_token and capability. It covers the paid nature, TTL, idempotency, included operations, and delivery caveats, leaving no major operational gap for an agent to call it correctly.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 0%, so the description must carry parameter meaning. It explains that ttl_seconds controls TTL within 60-3600s and that billing is per started 600s, and it explains that reusing the same idempotency_key returns the same inbox. It does not restate the idempotency_key format or required status, but the schema already contains those constraints.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description states the resource and use case clearly: a temporary email inbox for receiving verification emails, OTP/2FA codes, and magic links during authorized sign-ups. It also mentions payment, access_token, capability, and included features, which make the create action concrete. It does not explicitly differentiate itself from siblings like get_email_code, list_email_messages, or delete_email_inbox, so it falls short of a 5.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

The description gives clear usage context: it is for agents running authorized sign-ups and requires payment with no free trial. It also discloses that delivery and OTP are not guaranteed. It does not name alternatives or explicit when-not-to-use conditions, so it is strong but not complete.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
