Check a web app before shipping it

scan_app

Run twelve deterministic checks against the outside of a public web app and return a dated verdict: the stamp, the open/closed/not-checked counts, every line with its plain-English consequence, what was skipped, and the receipt id and URL. Free, no token. It reads public pages only: it does not sign in, does not create an account and does not guess anything. A clean verdict is not a guarantee of safety.

A4.7/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Goes well beyond the annotations: discloses cost (free), auth (no token), the exact scope of access (public pages only, no sign-in, no account creation, no guessing), the shape of the result including a receipt id/URL, and an honesty caveat that a clean verdict is not a guarantee of safety. The dated-verdict-plus-receipt output also implicitly explains the non-idempotent, non-read-only behavior declared in the annotations.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loads what the tool does and returns, then layers constraints and the caveat in tight declarative sentences. No filler, no restatement of the tool name, and the most decision-relevant information (verdict contents, public-only scope) comes first.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

There is no output schema, so the description carries the burden of describing returns and it does so explicitly. Combined with the annotations covering the safety profile and a fully documented single parameter, an agent has everything needed to call this correctly and interpret the result.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Only one parameter and the schema already documents it at 100% coverage, so the baseline is 3. The description adds real qualification: the URL must point at a public web app checked 'from the outside', which tells the agent what kind of value is valid beyond the schema's example.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a concrete verb and scope: 'Run twelve deterministic checks against the outside of a public web app and return a dated verdict', and then enumerates the artifacts returned (stamp, counts, lines with consequences, skipped items, receipt id/URL). This clearly separates it from the sibling get_receipt, which merely fetches a receipt by id.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

The title and opening sentence give clear usage context ('Check a web app before shipping it'), and the description bounds applicability: public pages only, no sign-in, no account creation, free with no token. It does not explicitly name an alternative tool or state when to prefer a different approach, so it falls short of a 5.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
