List storage objects

list_objects
Read-onlyIdempotent

List objects in the project's managed S3 bucket (the same bucket provision_storage created and the dashboard's Object storage explorer shows). Pass an optional prefix to list under a folder, e.g. "images/"; listing is one level deep (delimited by /), so drill into folders by passing their prefix. Returns each object's key, size and last-modified, the child folders one level below the prefix (folders), and truncated=true when the listing hit the object cap. Reads the project's OWN managed credentials — never asks the user for a key.

TDQS

A4.2/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already cover the read-only/idempotent/non-destructive safety profile, but the description adds genuinely new context: credentials come from the project's own managed store and never prompt the user, and results signal truncation when the object cap is hit. Return shape is also sketched, though pagination/resume behavior past the cap is not described.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with the resource and scope, then example and semantics, with no filler sentences. The parenthetical citations of provision_storage and the dashboard explorer are useful grounding rather than waste, though the paragraph is dense and could be broken up.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With an output schema present, the description need not explain return values, yet it flags the truncation signal that matters for correct agent behavior. Scope, credential source, example usage, and the drill-down model are all covered for a two-parameter read tool.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100% and the prefix parameter description already states the delimiter and drill-down semantics, so the description largely restates the schema. It reinforces the intent but adds no format or edge-case detail beyond what the structured field provides.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource ('List objects in the project's managed S3 bucket') and anchors it to sibling tools by name ('the same bucket provision_storage created'). It is clearly distinguishable from list_files, which targets a different surface.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explains how to use the prefix for folder drill-down and clarifies the one-level-deep listing model, which is real guidance. It stops short of explicitly naming when to prefer this over list_files, leaving that inference to the agent.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
