Vagaro: Reply to review

vagaro_reply_to_review

Vagaro: Post a public business reply under a customer review. Posts your reply under one review. The reply is public to other Vagaro users, the customer is notified, and the customer cannot comment again. There is no edit tool; edit or delete a reply in Vagaro on the web, tablet, Pay Desk or PayPro. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool. Reaches other people: confirm with the user before each call. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

A4.4/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Goes well beyond the annotations: the reply is public to other Vagaro users, the customer is notified, and the customer cannot comment again (an irreversible side effect). It also discloses the default per-call confirmation, the opt-out, the missing edit path, and the Cotlet API key requirement — all valuable for a mutation tool whose annotations only say readOnly=false and destructive=false.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Core purpose is front-loaded in the first sentence, followed by useful constraints. Slight redundancy between 'By default you confirm each call' and 'confirm with the user before each call,' plus the restated 'Posts your reply under one review,' but nothing is wasted enough to hurt.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a write tool with a 2-param fully-documented schema, an existing annotations safety profile, and no output schema, the description covers everything an agent needs: public visibility, notification, irreversible customer effect, confirmation policy, edit limitations, and auth.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so both parameters are already documented in the schema ('Reply text.' and 'Review ID from list_reviews.'). The description adds no format, length, or ID-sourcing detail beyond that, so the baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource: 'Post a public business reply under a customer review.' This clearly distinguishes it from sibling reads like vagaro_list_reviews and from vagaro_reply_to_client, which targets a different object (client conversation vs. review). An agent can identify the operation without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Provides clear operational context: confirm each call, confirm with the user before posting since it reaches other people, and the note that no edit tool exists so corrections must happen in Vagaro natively. It does not explicitly contrast this tool with vagaro_reply_to_client, so sibling routing is left slightly implicit rather than fully spelled out.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
