SuiteDash: Share file

suitedash_share_file

SuiteDash: Upload a file to the Sharing Folder of a client. Uploads one file from a URL to the dedicated Sharing Folder of one client. With notify, the client is told about the new file. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool. Reaches other people: confirm with the user before each call. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

TDQS

A3.7/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=false, openWorldHint=true, destructiveHint=false, so the write/open-world profile is covered. The description adds real context beyond that: the notify side effect on the client, the confirmation requirement for a tool that reaches other people, and the auth prerequisite. No contradiction with annotations.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loads the purpose and keeps the operational notes tight, but the first two sentences are redundant, restating the same upload-to-Sharing-Folder action twice. Removing one would tighten the definition without losing information.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a non-destructive write to an external folder with no output schema, the description covers the key agent concerns: the notify side effect, mandatory user confirmation, and API key access. Nothing critical is missing; return-value detail is unnecessary since no output schema exists.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so all three parameters are already documented, giving a baseline of 3. The description's mention of notify ('the client is told about the new file') largely restates the schema's own notify description rather than adding new syntax or format detail.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource ('Upload a file to the Sharing Folder of a client') plus scope ('one file from a URL to the dedicated Sharing Folder of one client'), so the agent knows exactly what it does. It does not name a sibling or contrast with one, which holds it just below the top score, but the operation is unambiguous.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Provides operational context – default per-call confirmation, an opt-out for this tool, the requirement to confirm with the user because it 'reaches other people', and the Cotlet API key requirement. However it never states when to prefer this over alternatives, so the guidance is implicit rather than a clear when/when-not rule.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
