SoundCloud: Delete comment

soundcloud_delete_comment

SoundCloud: Permanently remove a comment from your track, optionally reporting it as spam. Removes a comment from one of your tracks. Deleted comments cannot be restored. With report_spam the comment is also reported for review by SoundCloud. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool. Reaches other people: confirm with the user before each call. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

TDQS

B3.4/5.0
Behavior1/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

The description states the operation is a 'Permanently remove' and that 'Deleted comments cannot be restored', i.e. a destructive, irreversible write. The annotations declare destructiveHint=false, which asserts non-destructive behavior, so the two directly conflict. This is a genuine annotation contradiction even though the description's behavioral disclosure (confirmation, API key requirement) is otherwise rich.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness3/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The destructive action is correctly front-loaded, but the second sentence ('Removes a comment from one of your tracks') is a near-verbatim restatement of the first and the confirmation boilerplate is verbose. It is serviceable rather than tight.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a two-parameter delete with no output schema, the description covers irreversibility, the optional spam report, confirmation policy, and the required API key with app access. The only material gap is the conflict with the destructiveHint annotation, which undercuts the completeness of the behavioral picture.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so both parameters are already documented. The description adds only marginal meaning by restating that report_spam also files the comment for SoundCloud review, which is baseline-level value when the schema does the heavy lifting.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description states a specific verb and resource ('Permanently remove a comment'), scopes it ('from your track'), and adds an optional secondary action (report as spam). It is immediately distinguishable from siblings like list_comments and reply_to_comment without opening any schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It gives clear operational context: default per-call confirmation, the ability to disable it, and an explicit 'confirm with the user before each call' because the action reaches other people. It does not, however, name a sibling or state when-not-to-use (e.g., reply vs delete), so it stops short of full routing guidance.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
