Skool: List membership requests

skool_list_membership_requests
Read-only

Skool: Pending requests to join, with each applicant's Membership Questions answers. Admins and moderators only. Lists pending requests to join a private group, oldest first, with the answers each applicant gave to your Membership Questions. Only admins and moderators see requests; for other roles the call fails with a permission error. Pass request_id to approve_membership_request or decline_membership_request. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

TDQS

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true and destructiveHint=false, so safety is covered; the description adds non-obvious behavior: role gating with a permission error for non-admins, oldest-first ordering, and the Cotlet API key requirement. It leaves pagination behavior (cursor/limit interaction) unstated.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is short and front-loaded, with permission requirements and the approve/decline routing at the end. The opening sentence largely restates the second, which is mild redundancy, but overall every part contributes.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description carries the return-shape burden, and it does state that results include each applicant's Membership Questions answers along with the ordering and the request_id. Missing only pagination semantics, which the cursor/limit fields imply but never explain.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so group, limit, and cursor are fully documented in the schema, including the group URL-name format and the 1-100 limit range. The description adds no parameter-level meaning beyond noting that request_id (an output field, not an input) feeds approve/decline.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description names a specific verb and resource (pending requests to join a private group) and adds the distinctive payload detail that each request carries the applicant's Membership Questions answers, which separates it from the sibling skool_list_members. An agent can identify exactly what this returns without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It states the trigger context (pending requests to a private group), the required role (admins/moderators only), and routes the agent onward by saying the request_id is passed to approve_membership_request or decline_membership_request. It does not state when not to use it, but the alternative path is explicit.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
