Setmore: Set appointment label

setmore_set_appointment_label

Setmore: Track status with a label such as Confirmed or No-Show. Only you and your team see it. Sets the label on one appointment, like the Label dropdown in the web app. Customers never see labels, and nothing is sent to anyone. It runs without asking first because one call sets the label back. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

TDQS

A3.8/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already mark this as a non-destructive write with openWorldHint, so the bar is lower. The description adds real value beyond them: visibility scope ('only you and your team see it'), no external side effects ('nothing is sent to anyone'), reversibility ('one call sets the label back'), and the auth requirement. Only minor gaps remain about response behavior.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness3/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Purpose is front-loaded, but the five sentences include redundancy: 'Only you and your team see it' and 'Customers never see labels' convey the same visibility point twice, and the auto-approval sentence is awkwardly worded. The content is mostly useful but not tightly trimmed.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a two-parameter write tool with annotations covering the safety profile and no output schema, the description covers purpose, visibility, reversibility, and auth. An agent has enough to invoke it correctly; only the return/confirmation behavior is left unaddressed.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so the schema already documents both parameters, including the label values and the source of appointment_id. The description only echoes example labels ('Confirmed or No-Show') and adds no syntax or format detail beyond the schema, so baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource: 'Sets the label on one appointment,' scoped to a single appointment and mapped to a familiar concept ('like the Label dropdown in the web app'). An agent can tell it apart from setmore_reschedule_appointment or setmore_cancel_appointment without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It implies usage ('Track status with a label such as Confirmed or No-Show') and anchors the mental model to the web app's Label dropdown, but never states when to choose this over sibling tools or any preconditions beyond the API key. Usage is inferable, not spelled out.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
