Service Fusion: List estimates

service-fusion_list_estimates
Read-only

Service Fusion: Estimates with number, status, customer, requested date and options. Lists estimates. Filter by status, customer or the date the estimate was requested. Each item carries the estimate_id for get_estimate, convert_estimate_to_job and send_estimate. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

A3.9/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true, non-destructive and openWorld, so safety is covered. The description adds genuinely new context beyond them: the Cotlet API key/access requirement and the fact that each item exposes an estimate_id used by other tools. It stays silent on pagination behavior despite the page parameter, which is the only gap.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Four short sentences, front-loaded with the listing purpose before filters and downstream tooling. Efficient overall; the first sentence is slightly list-like and redundant with the second ('Lists estimates').

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

There is no output schema, and the description compensates by describing the returned fields and the estimate_id key. Auth prerequisites and filtering are covered. Only pagination semantics for the page parameter are left unaddressed, a minor omission for a list endpoint.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so all four parameters are already documented in the schema. The description restates the filterable fields (status, customer, requested date) but adds no syntax, format, or default information beyond what the schema provides. Baseline 3 applies when the schema does the heavy lifting.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

Names a specific verb (Lists) and resource (estimates), and enumerates the fields each estimate carries (number, status, customer, requested date, options), which tells an agent exactly what comes back. It also distinguishes itself from get_estimate, convert_estimate_to_job and send_estimate by positioning them as follow-ups. The opening sentence is slightly awkward, but the purpose is unambiguous.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explicitly states the filter conditions (status, customer, requested date) and routes the agent to the three downstream tools via the estimate_id it returns. It gives clear context but does not state when this is the wrong choice versus a sibling like get_estimate when a single estimate ID is already known.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
