REsimpli: Create task

resimpli_create_task

REsimpli: Set up a task on a lead with a due time and assignee. Creates a task on the lead with a title, due time and assignee, and returns its ID. The due time needs a time zone. The assignee is you unless you name someone else. It runs without asking by default. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

TDQS

A3.6/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already establish write, non-destructive, open-world nature. The description adds real context beyond that: it returns an ID, the due time requires a time zone, the assignee defaults to the caller, it executes without a confirmation prompt, and it requires the user's Cotlet API key with app access. That is a solid behavioral disclosure, though 'runs without asking' could be sharper.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness3/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded and short, but the first and second sentences overlap heavily — 'Set up a task on a lead with a due time and assignee' is then restated as 'Creates a task on the lead with a title, due time and assignee.' One of these could be cut.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a simple 4-parameter creation tool with no output schema, the description covers the return value (an ID), auth requirement, defaults, and the time-zone constraint, leaving little an agent would need to call it correctly.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3. The description largely restates schema facts (time zone needed for due_at, assignee defaults to you) rather than adding new semantics, so it does not exceed the baseline.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

Names a specific verb (creates/sets up) and resource (a task on a lead) with the key attributes (title, due time, assignee). The purpose is unambiguous and no sibling in the REsimpli family creates tasks, so there is nothing to confuse it with, but it does not explicitly position itself against related sibling actions like resimpli_add_lead_note.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Usage is implied by the verb (create a task when a lead needs a follow-up), but there is no explicit when-to-use, when-not, or alternative routing guidance. The only clues are defaults like 'runs without asking by default' and 'assignee is you unless you name someone else', which are behavioral rather than selection guidance.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
