Momence: Cancel membership renewal

momence_cancel_membership_renewal

Momence: Cancel Renewal on a subscription now or at a scheduled date, so it expires instead of charging again. Stops a subscription from renewing now or at cancel_at. Some memberships need a minimum number of renewals first, and cancelling a main membership also cancels the renewals of its linked membership. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool. Reaches other people: confirm with the user before each call. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

TDQS

A4.1/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

With only sparse annotations (readOnly=false, destructive=false, openWorld=true), the description carries the burden well: it discloses a prerequisite ('minimum number of renewals'), a cascade side effect (cancelling a main membership cancels linked renewals), the confirmation-by-default behavior, an external-communication warning, and the required API key.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness3/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The first two sentences restate the same idea ('cancel renewal now or at a scheduled date' vs 'stops a subscription from renewing now or at cancel_at'), which is redundant. The remaining sentences earn their place, and the key effect is front-loaded, but one wasted sentence lowers the score.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a mutation tool with no output schema, the description covers effect, modes, prerequisites, cascade behavior, confirmation policy, and auth requirements. Nothing an agent needs to invoke it correctly appears to be missing.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the schema already documents membership_id and cancel_at. The description's 'now or at cancel_at' phrasing adds minor semantic framing but no format or sourcing detail beyond the schema, so the baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb (cancel) and resource (membership/subscription renewal) plus the exact effect ('so it expires instead of charging again'). This cleanly distinguishes it from siblings like momence_freeze_membership or momence_cancel_booking, which affect different objects.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It clarifies the two operating modes ('now or at cancel_at') and the intent behind them, giving implied usage context. However, it never names an alternative tool or states when-not to use this one (e.g., vs freezing or cancelling the whole membership), so routing guidance is only implicit.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
