Mangomint: List appointments

mangomint_list_appointments

Mangomint: Appointments on the calendar in a date range with client, services, staff member and notes. Returns appointments in a date range in start order, each with client, services, staff member, start, end and appointment note. Filter by staff member to read one calendar. TDQS

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true and destructiveHint=false, so safety is covered. The description adds real behavioral value beyond that: default exclusion of canceled/no-show, result ordering by start time, and an auth requirement (Cotlet API key with app access). It does not discuss pagination or result-size limits.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded and reasonably tight, but the first two sentences overlap heavily (both enumerate client, services, staff member, and notes), so there is some redundancy that could be trimmed.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description carries the burden of describing return contents and it does so (client, services, staff, start, end, note, ordered by start). Auth prerequisite is stated. Minor gaps remain around pagination and how the location_id default resolves, but the core is complete.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so all five parameters are already documented in the schema. The description restates the staff filter and the include_canceled default, adding little syntax or semantics beyond what the structured fields provide.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb (list) and resource (appointments), plus the scope (calendar date range) and the fields carried per record. An agent can distinguish it from sibling mangomint_book_appointment, mangomint_cancel_appointment, and mangomint_reschedule_appointment without opening a schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives clear context: filter by staff member to read a single calendar, and canceled appointments are excluded unless include_canceled is true. It does not, however, explicitly name alternatives (e.g., get_client_timeline) or state when-not to use this tool.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
