Mangomint: Cancel appointment

mangomint_cancel_appointment

Mangomint: Cancel an appointment as a normal cancellation, late cancellation or no show. Cancels one appointment with the cancellation type you choose: normal (the client canceled within the cancellation period), late (after it) or no_show. The client is notified if cancellation notifications are on in Mangomint. A late cancellation or no show does not charge a fee by itself; the fee is added at checkout. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool. Reaches other people: confirm with the user before each call. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

A4.3/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=false, openWorldHint=true, destructiveHint=false. The description adds real context beyond them: the client is notified when notifications are enabled, fees are not auto-charged but added at checkout, confirmation is on by default and switchable, and an API key with app access is required. It still doesn't say whether a cancellation is reversible or what the response contains, but the added behavioral detail is substantial.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Purpose is front-loaded and most sentences earn their place. There is mild redundancy between the opening sentence listing the three types and the following sentence re-describing them, but overall it is tight and well-ordered.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With only two params both fully documented in schema, no output schema, and annotations covering safety, the description is complete enough for an agent to call the tool correctly. Notification, fee, auth, and confirmation behavior are all covered; only the return shape is unaddressed, which is acceptable given no output schema.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100% and the enum is already documented, so the baseline would be 3. The description goes further by defining what each enum value means operationally (normal within cancellation period, late after), which adds semantic meaning beyond the raw enum list.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a precise verb and resource and immediately segments the action into its three cancellation types (normal, late, no_show), each defined parenthetically. An agent can distinguish this from siblings like mangomint_reschedule_appointment or mangomint_list_appointments without opening any schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives clear context on when each type applies (normal = canceled within the cancellation period, late = after it, no_show) and clarifies that a late/no_show does not itself charge a fee. It does not, however, explicitly compare against alternatives such as rescheduling versus canceling, so it stops short of full routing guidance.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
