Mangomint: Book from waitlist

mangomint_book_from_waitlist

Mangomint: Accept an opening Mangomint found for a waitlist entry and book it. Accepts one opening for one waitlist entry, the same as Book on the calendar notification, and puts the client on the calendar. Needs an Admin user or the Can manage waitlist permission. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool. Reaches other people: confirm with the user before each call. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

A4.4/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Goes well beyond the annotations by disclosing permission requirements (Admin user or 'Can manage waitlist'), the confirmation-by-default behavior with an opt-out, the external side effect ('Reaches other people: confirm with the user before each call'), and the API key requirement. These are exactly the behavioral traits an agent needs for a mutation that contacts third parties.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The core action is front-loaded and most sentences earn their place. There is mild redundancy: the confirmation behavior is mentioned twice ('By default you confirm each call' and 'confirm with the user before each call'), which slightly bloats an otherwise efficient description.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a mutating, open-world tool with no output schema, the description covers purpose, prerequisites, permissions, side effects, and confirmation behavior, so an agent has everything needed to invoke it safely. Return-value detail is unnecessary given no output schema exists.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so both parameters and their sources (list_waitlist entry, opening from the same entry) are already documented in the schema. The description reinforces the one-to-one pairing but adds no format or syntax detail beyond what the schema provides; baseline 3 is appropriate.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource ('Accept an opening Mangomint found for a waitlist entry and book it') and clarifies the scope ('one opening for one waitlist entry'). This distinguishes it from mangomint_book_appointment, which books without a waitlist entry.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Provides clear context for when this applies: you need an opening found for a waitlist entry, and it maps to 'Book on the calendar notification'. However, it never explicitly names an alternative (e.g., mangomint_book_appointment) or states when NOT to use it, so the routing guidance is implied rather than spelled out.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
