Klook: Search activities

klook_search_activities
Read-only

Klook: Tours, tickets and experiences by keyword or destination, with price, rating and cancellation type. Returns activities that match a keyword or destination, in the order set by sort. A date keeps only activities available that day. Each item has the lowest price, rating and review count, and the cancellation type: free, conditional or none. Use get_activity for packages and details. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

TDQS

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true, openWorldHint=true and destructiveHint=false, so safety is covered. The description usefully adds the return shape (lowest price, rating, review count, cancellation type enum) and a real auth prerequisite (Cotlet API key access to this app), which is context the annotations don't provide.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loads the purpose in the first sentence and flows logically from what it does to how results are shaped to the sibling alternative. Slight redundancy: 'by keyword or destination' is repeated in the first two sentences.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description steps in to explain the item fields returned (lowest price, rating, review count, cancellation type) and states the auth requirement. Combined with full schema coverage, an agent has nearly everything needed, though pagination behavior of limit is left implicit.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so the schema already documents query, date, sort, limit and currency. The description reinforces the semantics of sort order and the date filter but adds no syntax or format detail beyond the schema, so the baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb (search) and resource (activities/tours/tickets/experiences) and characterizes the returned fields (price, rating, cancellation type). It also names the sibling get_activity for a different purpose, so an agent can distinguish the two without opening either schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explicitly routes to get_activity for 'packages and details', giving a clear when-not-this condition. However, it doesn't address other nearby siblings like klook_check_availability or klook_book_activity, so the routing guidance is clear but not exhaustive.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
