Klook: Cancel booking

klook_cancel_booking

Klook: Cancel a booking and apply for a refund, where it has free cancellation. Applies for a refund on a booking within the free cancellation period stated on the booking, for all units or for the quantity you set. Klook emails a cancellation confirmation, and the previous voucher can no longer be used. For conditional cancellation Klook asks you to contact Klook Customer Support, and the tool stops and says so; with No cancellation there is no refund. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool. Reaches other people: confirm with the user before each call. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

TDQS

A4.4/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Far exceeds the annotations: it discloses the downstream effects (Klook emails a cancellation confirmation, the previous voucher becomes unusable), the halting behavior for conditional bookings, and the confirmation/auth requirements ('By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off', 'Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app', 'Reaches other people: confirm with the user'). This is the kind of side-effect disclosure a mutation tool needs.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with the core action and refund condition, then layers policy branches and operational warnings. It is dense and contains some run-on clauses, but virtually every sentence carries actionable information; nothing is padding.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema and only annotation-level safety hints, the description carries the burden well: it explains outcomes (email confirmation, invalidated voucher), failure modes (conditional/no-cancellation), and preconditions (user confirmation, API key). An agent has enough to decide and to warn the user before invoking.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so booking_ref, reason, and quantity are already documented. The description restates the quantity semantics ('for all units or for the quantity you set') but adds no syntax, limits, or format detail beyond the schema, which is the baseline-3 case under full coverage.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb+resource pair ('Cancel a booking and apply for a refund') and immediately qualifies the scope with the free-cancellation condition, so an agent can separate it from klook_amend_booking or klook_get_booking without reading either schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives explicit conditions for use and non-use: it works only within the free cancellation period, for conditional cancellation the tool halts and defers to Klook Customer Support, and under 'No cancellation' there is no refund. It does not name sibling alternatives (e.g., amend vs cancel), so it stops short of a 5.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
